Nuevas Dimensiones is an electronic journal devoted to the teaching of History and Social Sciences. The journal has been published since July 2010 by a group of History, Geography, and Social Sciences teachers. Since 2021, it has been published by the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities at Alberto Hurtado University (UAH). The journal is affiliated with the Chilean Association for the Teaching of Social Sciences (ACHECS) and the Ibero-American Network for Social Sciences Education (RIDCS).

The journal aims to disseminate, promote discussion, and foster critical reflection on education, teaching, learning, curriculum, educational practices, and didactics in History and Social Sciences among teachers, teacher educators, and pre-service teachers.

The journal is published annually in December. As it has adopted an online-first publication model, manuscripts are accepted on a continuous basis.

The journal welcomes contributions addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:

• The teaching and learning of History and Social Sciences.
• Initial and continuing teacher education in History and Social Sciences.
• Critical analyses of History and Social Sciences curricula.
• Theoretical reflections on education, didactics, and curriculum in History and Social Sciences.
• Methodological proposals based on qualitative approaches.
• Educational experiences involving the teaching and learning of History and Social Sciences in schools.
